The Oriel Lighting OL7641BK Portico Black is an outdoor wall light rated 240V, with a single E27 lampholder taking a globe up to 60W. The OL7641BK carries an IP44 rating and sets clear glass into four sides of an aluminium frame finished in textured black. Globes are not supplied, and the fitting is to be installed by a licensed electrician. Overall dimensions are 245mm high, 110mm wide and 150mm deep.
Entry, alfresco and courtyard walls take rain and dust, and a fitting there works by day as well as night. The Portico runs clear glass on four sides, so the globe reads from any approach rather than through a single lens. A 105mm square backplate and 150mm projection keep the body tight to the wall in a doorway or breezeway.
The OL7641BK is rated for outdoor and alfresco positions, so it covers a roofed patio as well as an open wall. Oriel states plainly that the fitting is to be installed by a licensed electrician. A single E27 lampholder means the globe is specified at fit-off, so output and colour temperature are set then.
The Portico is rated IP44, which covers splashing water from any direction but not immersion. Do not install it below ground, in a pond or water feature, or anywhere it will be hosed at pressure. Fitting a globe above the 60W ceiling sits outside the fitting's rating and must not be done.

IP44 covers solid objects larger than 1mm and splashing water from any direction. The Portico carries that rating, which suits an exposed wall taking rain and wind-driven spray. IP44 does not cover immersion or pressure washing, so the fitting should not go below ground or into a water feature.
Installation must be carried out by a licensed electrician. Oriel states this on the fitting's own specification, and the OL7641BK is a hardwired light connected to the 240V mains supply. Silicone sealant at the mounting face is also normal practice where an outdoor fitting meets a wall.
The Portico takes one E27 screw-base globe rated up to 60W. Globes are not supplied. Oriel lists A-LED-26104227 as the recommended globe, which is an ST64 filament shape suited to a fitting with clear glass on all four sides.
The box contains one wall light. A globe is not included and is ordered separately. The carton measures 120 x 160 x 270mm and the shipping weight is 1.9kg.
The backplate is 105 x 105mm square and the fitting projects 150mm from the wall face. Overall height is 245mm and width is 110mm, which keeps it clear of a door swing in a standard entry.
Oriel covers the OL7641BK with a 12 month warranty from date of purchase for domestic use. It applies only where the fitting is used for its intended purpose and stays within Australia. Because the fitting is hardwired, the warranty stands only if a licensed electrical contractor installed it.
The metalware is aluminium with a sandy textured black finish, and all four faces carry clear glass. Packed weight is 1.9kg, which is light enough for a single fixing pattern on a masonry or clad wall.
