The Martec MLQO30W is a 30W LED oyster ceiling light rated 220-240V a.c. 50-60Hz, supplied in matt white with a frameless 350mm face. The MLQO30W is the largest fitting in the Martec Quest range and switches between three colour temperatures at the light during installation. It carries an IP44 rating on the front side, runs on a trailing edge dimmer, and measures 23.5mm deep.
Open-plan living areas and double garages leave a smaller oyster struggling to reach the far corners of the floor. The MLQO30W distributes between 2700 and 3300 lumens across a 350mm frameless face, covering a large room from a single ceiling point. Switchable 3000K, 4000K and 6500K colour temperatures let one fitting handle warm living zones and cooler work areas from identical van stock. The 23.5mm slim profile keeps even the largest size in the range tight against the plasterboard.
Specifying the 350mm size covers a large area from one point instead of running a second fitting, additional cable and another ceiling penetration. The MLQO30W terminates through a built-in 3-pin terminal block with dedicated cable entry, so the fitting is wired and mechanically secured within minutes. The integrated push lock system retains the 350mm body on its base plate without screws or specialist tooling. The Quest 30W oyster is not rated for outdoor or exposed positions, and its IP44 rating applies to the front side only. Installation must be carried out by a licensed electrician. Martec states the warranty is void unless a licensed electrician installs the fitting. The MLQO30W wires through a built-in 3-pin terminal block and cable entry, then locks onto its base plate using the integrated push lock system.
The Quest oyster switches between 3000K warm white, 4000K natural white and 6500K daylight. The setting is selected at the fitting during installation. Light output moves with the setting, running between 2700 and 3300 lumens on the 30W model.
The fitting is trailing edge dimmable, so level control requires a trailing edge dimmer rated for LED loads. Leading edge dimmers sit outside the specified range for this light. Check the dimmer's rated load range against the wattage of the fitting before specifying.
The IP44 rating applies to the front side of the fitting only. That covers splashing water against the visible face, which suits internal laundries and utility rooms. The rating does not extend to the rear housing, to outdoor positions, or to areas exposed to driving rain.
The LED board is rated for 30,000 hours at an ambient temperature of 25 degrees C. Martec provides a 5 year replacement warranty. The warranty is void unless the light is installed by a licensed electrician.
The Quest range covers three sizes. The 18W MLQO18W measures 223mm across, the 24W MLQO24W measures 298mm, and the 30W MLQO30W measures 350mm. All three share the same 23.5mm depth, polycarbonate housing and tri-colour switching.
