Clipsal by Schneider Electric | Surge Protected Double Power Point 10A 250V 2000 Series | White Electric Complete

The Clipsal 2025SF-WE is a twin switched socket outlet rated 250V 10A with a 30SFM surge filter module built into the base. The 2025SF-WE clamps surge voltages that would typically exceed 2.5kV down to between 275 and 710 volts. A neon indicator on the plate glows while surge protection is available. The outlet is supplied complete in White Electric and is listed to AS/NZS 3100.

Switching heavy inductive loads, arc welding on a nearby site, and storm activity all push transient overvoltage back down the mains. The electronics inside a television, modem or appliance controller degrade with every event, and the damage is rarely visible. Portable protectors cover that risk, but a wall hung television or a recessed cabinet leaves nowhere to sit one. Building the surge filter into the socket base puts the protection behind the plate, wired in and impossible to unplug.

For a sparky, the 2025SF-WE turns surge protection into a quotable line item on the job. It lands on standard 84mm mounting centres and takes the same interchangeable 2000 Series surround specified through the rest of the installation. The indicator neon gives the occupant visible confirmation, which reduces unnecessary callbacks. Positioned behind a wall mounted screen or a home office desk, it safeguards equipment worth many times the fitting.

        Features

        • 30SFM surge filter module — a compact filter sits inside the base of the 2025SF-WE and absorbs transient energy before it reaches the appliance.
        • Clamping range 275 to 710 volts — surge voltages that may typically exceed 2.5kV are held within that band by the filter module.
        • Neon protection indicator — a small glowing neon on the plate shows the surge filter is operational, so the state of protection is visible without test gear.
        • Protection ends when the neon goes out — the filter is a consumable part, and once the indicator stops glowing surge protection is no longer available at that outlet.
        • Twin switched sockets — two separately switched 250V 10A outlets sit on one standard size plate.
        • Standard size flush plate — 116mm by 76mm with mounting centres 84mm apart, matching the standard pattern used across domestic switchplates.
        • 45mm body depth — the filter module makes the base deeper than a plain double socket outlet, so available cavity depth should be checked before fitting.
        • Interchangeable 2000 Series surround — the surround clips off and on, hiding the mounting screws and letting overpainting or untidy wallpaper trim be tidied later.
        • White Electric moulded finish — the plate matches the rest of the 2000 Series, so a protected outlet does not stand out on the wall.
        • Listed to AS/NZS 3100 — the 2025SF-WE is built to the Australian and New Zealand approval and test specification for electrical equipment.
        • Reads as a standard outlet — apart from the indicator neon, the 2025SF-WE presents as an ordinary double power point, which suits finished rooms and tenanted properties.
        • No IP weather rating — no ingress protection rating is published for this outlet, so it belongs in dry internal locations only.

        Where to use

        • Behind wall mounted screens — the 2025SF-WE puts protection where a plug-in board will not fit behind a panel sitting hard against the wall.
        • Home office desks — computer, monitor and network gear draw from a single protected point with no surge board sitting on the floor.
        • Modem and NBN points — the outlet feeding a modem or router is a common casualty of storm season transients on the mains.
        • Entertainment units and media joinery — recessed cabinetry leaves no room for a bulky protector, so the protection goes into the wall instead.
        • Kitchen appliance points — microwaves, ovens with electronic controls and induction cooktops all carry circuit boards that transients degrade over time.
        • Renovation and rewire work — swapping one existing double socket outlet for the 2025SF-WE adds protection at a single point without altering the circuit.
        • Tenanted and holiday properties — a flush mounted outlet cannot be removed or borrowed the way a portable surge board can.

The 2025SF-WE is not rated for outdoor or damp exposed locations and carries no published IP rating, so it should not be fitted to external walls, wet areas or open carports. It is a point of use surge filter, not switchboard level protection, and it does not provide earth leakage protection for the circuit. Installation is work for a licensed electrician.

Verified Sparky Direct customer reviews: CLIPSAL 2025SF | Surge Protected 10A Double GPO | 2000 Series (2025SF-WE)

"Power outlet mounted surge protector with Indicator looks good, easy to install" — David

"Expensive but ideal for use with flat mounted TV's" — Mark

"So easy to order and free quick delivery to my door." — Gavmar

        (2025SFWE)

The 2025SF-WE holds a 30SFM surge filter module that absorbs transient energy and clamps surge voltages, which may typically exceed 2.5kV, to between 275 and 710 volts. That cuts the voltage stress reaching electronics plugged into the two outlets.

Installation must be carried out by a licensed electrician. The outlet is a standard size flush plate measuring 116mm by 76mm, with mounting centres 84mm apart. The body is 45mm deep because of the surge filter module, so available depth behind the plate should be checked before fitting.

A small neon indicator on the plate glows while the surge filter is operational. Surge filters are consumable components that absorb energy across their service life. If the indicator is no longer glowing, protection is no longer available at that outlet and the fitting needs replacing by a licensed electrician.

The 2025SF-WE is listed to AS/NZS 3100, the Australian and New Zealand approval and test specification for electrical equipment. Clipsal 2000 Series products carry the Approval Mark S/1 where required.

The 2000 Series surround clips off and on and is common across the range, so the same surround style and colour used elsewhere suits this outlet. Mounting centres sit 84mm apart, matching the standard pattern used for other 2000 Series accessories.

No IP ingress protection rating is published for this outlet, so it is intended for dry internal locations. Wet areas, external walls and open carports need a fitting rated for those conditions. A licensed electrician should confirm suitability for the specific location.

Clipsal covers the outlet for one year domestic use and one year commercial use, starting from the invoice date. Clipsal handles claims directly under an in-home warranty, so the product does not need to be uninstalled or returned. The warranty is void if installation is not carried out by a licensed electrician.
