        Downlight failed after 17 months on 31 August 2021

        A followup from my last review. The down light was installed in my house and has failed after 17 months, this is inside the warranty period. Would be a callback if it was a customers job. Installed in a lower level ceiling so was not exposed to high temperatures.

        Gday Team, I have installed over 230 so far and they are great. Easy to install with a surface socket and give out a great light. I recommend them for everyday use through out a home or business. I have had 1 fail after 9 months - but that was quickly replaced by Sparky Direct on my next order. The other reputable Down lights I was using before I switched to these ones had a huge failure rate.

        Is the fitting IC abutted and covered rated or not on 2 May 2020

        I question the their IC rating. The description states IC abutted and covered and the both the box and instruction sheet are also marked IC abutted & covered but then the instructions include clearance distances above and alongside the fitting and there is no marking on the fitting itself. Emailing this question to National Light Sources Pty Ltd resulted in the response "The fitting is IC rated. As for the pamphlet diagram this is just stating the As3000 Install standard." However clearances are part of the installation instructions and the product is not marked so I would not treat the light as IC rated.
