The Clipsal 3045C-XW is a 5 gang switch plate skin for the Clipsal Iconic range, finished in Extra White. The 3045C-XW is a clip-on cover frame supplied with five rockers, and it accommodates switch plates installed in either vertical or horizontal orientation. It contains no switch mechanism and no grid plate, so it covers an Iconic 5 gang switch position that is already installed.
Iconic switch plates take damage over years of service: scuffing from furniture, marks from cleaning products, or a finish that no longer suits a repainted wall. Replacing the whole switch assembly needs circuit isolation and a licensed electrician for what is a cosmetic job. The 3045C-XW is a clip-on skin that detaches and refits without disturbing the mechanism or the wiring behind it. The five rockers come with the skin, so a scratched plate and worn rockers are replaced together.
Iconic runs on a common grid, so a single 5 gang grid plate takes whatever skin the customer specifies. That gives a colour change without rewiring on handover jobs, rental turnovers, and display homes.
The 3045C-XW carries no IP rating and is unsuitable for outdoor, damp, or splash-exposed positions. It is a cover frame only, so it requires an Iconic 5 gang grid plate already fitted behind the wall face. The rated operating maximum is 45 degrees Celsius, so avoid positions exceeding that temperature.

The 3045C-XW clips onto a Clipsal Iconic 5 gang switch grid plate, mounted either vertically or horizontally. It suits the standard Iconic skin range only. Iconic Essence and Iconic Styl switch plates use their own skins and will not take this cover frame.
Changing a skin does not expose live parts, because the cover frame clips off the front of the grid plate and the switch mechanisms stay in place. Any work that alters the switch, the grid plate, or the wiring behind it must be carried out by a licensed electrician.
The pack holds the Extra White cover frame and five rockers. No switch mechanisms and no grid plate are supplied. The skin therefore suits a switch position that already has an Iconic 5 gang grid plate fitted behind the wall face.
Schneider Electric lists the cover frame as polycarbonate and ABS, moulded in Extra White with a soft matte face. The skin is declared mercury free and compliant by exemption under the EU RoHS directive.
Rated operating range runs from 0 to 45 degrees Celsius, with storage rated from 0 to 60 degrees Celsius. Relative humidity is rated from 10 to 95 per cent. Those figures place the cover frame in interior positions only.
Schneider Electric lists an 18 month warranty on this cover frame, running from the invoice date. Clipsal handles claims directly under its in home warranty, so the product does not need to be returned. Warranty is void where the switch is not installed by a licensed electrician.
