Clipsal by Schneider Electric | Iconic Essence Cooking Appliance Isolator 45A 250V Single Pole | Arctic White Birch Complete

The Clipsal E3041-45-AW is a cooking appliance isolator switch rated 45 A 250 V, built on the Clipsal Iconic platform with an Iconic Essence cover frame in Arctic White. It is a single pole switch, so it breaks the active conductor to the appliance. The E3041-45-AW ships complete: switch grid, the 45 A isolator mechanism and the Essence cover frame. The cover frame is birch timber with a matt surface finish and a birch edge.

The isolator is the one switch in the kitchen that has to sit out in the open, within reach of the cooktop and away from it. That puts a large plate on a wall people look at every day, usually right next to the joinery. The E3041-45-AW carries a birch timber cover frame instead of moulded plastic, so the isolator reads as part of the room. The frame is 8.5 mm deep, which keeps the finished face close to the wall.

The E3041-45-AW fits off like the rest of the Iconic platform. The mechanism and the cover frame are both rated for horizontal or vertical installation, so the same part suits a plate turned to sit above a benchtop or one running upright beside the joinery. The frame uses a clip-on fixing, so the finish can be changed later without disturbing the grid or the mechanism. Mounting is flush to a standard wall box.

        Features

        • Complete switch supplied — the E3041-45-AW includes the switch grid, the 45 A isolator mechanism and the Essence cover frame, with no separate parts to order.
        • Rated 45 A — sized for the dedicated circuits used by fixed cooking appliances rather than general-purpose lighting or socket circuits.
        • Single pole switching — the mechanism breaks the active conductor to the appliance.
        • Single rocker actuator — one rocker operates the isolator, with electromechanical switching behind it.
        • Rocker marked Cooker — the actuator carries a Cooker marking, so the isolator is identifiable at a glance on the wall.
        • Screw terminals — the mechanism terminates on screw terminals.
        • Horizontal or vertical installation — both the mechanism and the cover frame are rated for either orientation, so one part covers both plate positions.
        • Clip-on cover frame — the Essence frame clips to the grid and lifts off again for cleaning or a finish change.
        • Birch timber cover frame — the frame is timber, not moulded plastic, so grain and tone vary slightly between plates.
        • Arctic White with birch edge — the face is Arctic White and the exposed edge is left as raw birch.
        • Matt surface finish — the frame is matt rather than gloss, so the plate holds less shine under downlights.
        • Rated 0 to 45 degrees C — the cover frame is specified for ambient temperatures of 0 to 45 degrees C and relative humidity of 10 to 95 per cent.

        Where to use

        • Electric cooktop isolation — the 45 A rating suits the dedicated circuit feeding a fixed cooktop.
        • Wall oven isolation — a single pole isolator gives a fixed oven its own local switching point.
        • Kitchen walls beside joinery — the birch timber frame suits a plate that sits in full view next to cabinetry.
        • Benchtop splashback runs — horizontal installation suits a plate turned to sit in line above a bench.
        • Upright positions beside cabinetry — vertical installation suits a plate running with the lines of a tall cupboard or pantry.
        • New builds on flush wall boxes — flush mounting suits standard wall boxes in new residential and commercial work.
        • Kitchen renovations — the complete kit covers a straight swap of an existing 45 A isolator during a refresh.

The E3041-45-AW switches the active conductor only. Where double pole isolation is called for, whether by the appliance instructions or by the installation requirements, this is not the right unit. It is also not weatherproof and carries no IP rating, so keep it out of outdoor and exposed positions. The timber cover frame is specified for indoor ambient conditions only, so damp or unventilated rooms sit outside its rated humidity range.

        (E3041-45-AW)

The E3041-45-AW is supplied complete. You get the switch grid, the 45 A single pole cooking appliance isolator mechanism, and the Iconic Essence cover frame in Arctic White. It is built from the Clipsal 3041-45VW isolator and the E3041/45C-AW Essence cover frame, so there is nothing else to order.

A licensed electrician has to do the install. It is fixed wiring on a dedicated appliance circuit, so it is electrical work. The switch mounts flush to a standard wall box and fits off like the rest of the Iconic platform once the wiring is landed.

Single pole. It breaks the active conductor to the appliance and leaves the neutral connected. If the appliance instructions or the installation requirements call for both conductors to be broken, you need a double pole isolator instead. Check that before you order.

Yes. The Essence cover frame is rated for horizontal or vertical installation, so the same part suits a plate sitting in line above a bench or running upright beside cabinetry. Confirm the orientation on site before you cut in, since the wall box position sets what works.

Fixed cooking appliances on their own dedicated circuit, such as an electric cooktop or a wall oven. The 45 A rating covers the current these appliances draw. Check the appliance nameplate against the circuit rating, and confirm the correct size with the installer before ordering.

Yes. The Essence frame is clip-on. It lifts off the grid and another Iconic cover frame for the same switch clips straight back on, so the finish can change without pulling the mechanism out or touching the wiring. The grid and mechanism stay in the wall.

One year domestic and one year commercial, starting from the invoice date. Clipsal runs it as an in-home warranty, so Clipsal handles the claim in place rather than you pulling the switch out and sending it back. The warranty is void if the product was not installed by a licensed electrician.
