        Martec | Quest 18W LED Oyster Ceiling Light Tri-CCT | 223mm Matt White

        The Martec MLQO18W is an 18W LED oyster ceiling light rated 220-240V a.c. 50-60Hz, supplied in matt white with a frameless 223mm face. The MLQO18W belongs to the Martec Quest range and switches between three colour temperatures at the fitting during installation. It carries an IP44 rating on the front side, runs on a trailing edge dimmer, and measures 23.5mm deep.

        Older batten holders and dome oysters project below the ceiling line and discolour after several years of continuous service. The Quest runs a 23.5mm frameless profile that sits tight against the plasterboard, spreading light evenly across the diffuser face with no visible bezel. Switchable 3000K, 4000K and 5000K colour temperatures let one fitting cover warm bedrooms and cooler utility areas from the same van stock. The integrated push lock system holds the body on its base plate without screws or specialist tooling.

        Carrying one 223mm tri-colour oyster instead of separate warm and cool variants cuts the inventory a contractor holds for repeat residential installations.         Installation must be carried out by a licensed electrician. Martec states the warranty is void unless a licensed electrician installs the fitting. The MLQO18W wires through a built-in 3-pin terminal block and cable entry, then locks onto its base plate using the integrated push lock system.

        The Quest oyster switches between 3000K warm white, 4000K natural white and 5000K cool white. The setting is selected at the fitting during installation. Light output moves with the setting, running between 1650 and 1890 lumens on the 18W model.

        The fitting is trailing edge dimmable. Martec lists the MTD350VAP and MTD350VAR dimmers as compatible, sold separately. Leading edge dimmers sit outside the specified range for this light.

        The IP44 rating applies to the front side of the fitting only. That covers splashing water against the visible face, which suits internal laundries and utility rooms. The rating does not extend to the rear housing, to outdoor positions, or to areas exposed to driving rain.

        The LED board is rated for 30,000 hours at an ambient temperature of 25 degrees C. Martec provides a 5 year replacement warranty. The warranty is void unless the light is installed by a licensed electrician.

        The Quest range covers three sizes. The 18W MLQO18W measures 223mm across, the 24W MLQO24W measures 298mm, and the 30W MLQO30W measures 350mm. All three share the same 23.5mm depth, polycarbonate housing and tri-colour switching.
