The Thermogroup 3056TD is a loose wire in-screed underfloor heating kit rated 850 W at 240 V. It supplies 45 metres of heating cable at 18 W per linear metre. The 3056TD covers 3.9 to 4.6 square metres of floor at the 200 W per square metre design density. The cable is 5.5 mm thick, carries an IP67 rating, and ends in a 3 metre cold tail.
On a new build the floor heating has to hit the output the room was designed for, and screed depth varies from job to job. The 3056TD is a loose wire cable, so the installer sets spacing on site to match that figure. Spacing runs from 5 cm to 11 cm, and 9 cm gives 200 W per square metre. The cable goes into 20 mm to 50 mm screeds and fixes down to the substrate before the pour.
Rough-in follows a set sequence: mains power lands at the thermostat position, then two 20 mm conduits run down to the floor. One conduit takes the cold tail, the other takes the floor sensor. The kit carries the dual thermostat, floor sensor, sensor conduit, cable monitor and a 25 m roll of fixing tape. Insulation is the only item not supplied in the kit.

Where to use
- New build screed floors — the 3056TD goes into the screed layer on new slabs, where floor height build-up is being set from scratch.
- Sand, cement and flow screeds — the cable suits sand and cement, anhydrite and flow screed mixes.
- Rooms in constant use — in-screed heating warms and cools slowly, which suits living areas and open-plan spaces running most of the day.
- Primary or supplementary heat — the 3056TD carries a room's main heating or tops up an existing system where the building is adequately insulated.
- Timber, carpet and vinyl — the finished screed takes almost any floor covering over it, including wood, carpet and vinyl.
- Insulated substrates — fixing the cable onto insulation board is the recommended build-up beneath the screed.
- Renovation screed pours — the cable also suits renovation work where a fresh screed layer goes down over an existing substrate.
The 3056TD is not for screeds over 50 mm thick, or for screed depths under 20 mm. The cable must finish fully covered by a cement-based product, and it cannot operate in a void. Thermoscreed suits primary and supplementary heating only where the property is adequately insulated.
