The SRF3015V-100WHE is a 1.5mm² thermoplastic-sheathed (TPS) flat cable with two PVC-insulated copper conductors and a bare copper earth, supplied on a 100-metre drum. It is rated 450/750V, built to AS/NZS 5000.2, and used as the standard cable for lighting circuits and small power sub-circuits in Australian fixed wiring. The SRF3015V-100WHE ships in one of several approved brands: Electra-Cables, Prysmian, Apec, Advance Cables, or Olex, depending on current stock.
The SRF3015V-100WHE is the cable most often specified for domestic lighting circuits, downlight runs, and small power sub-circuits where the design load stays within the 1.5mm² conductor rating. Because the drum is a continuous 100-metre length, it suits sparkies running a whole house, a duplex, or a small commercial fit-out from one reel rather than working from cuts. Australian wiring rules require installation by a licensed electrician under AS/NZS 3000.
For sparkies on a domestic re-wire or new build, the SRF3015V-100WHE is the workhorse drum. The easy-tear PVC sheath strips back cleanly at the GPO, switch, or junction box, which speeds up rough-in and fit-off across a full house. Metre marking along the sheath lets the cable be measured off the drum without unspooling the whole run. Every drum is approved to AS/NZS 5000.2 and supplied with plain annealed copper conductors to AS/NZS 1125.
The SRF3015V-100WHE is not suited to applications subject to mechanical damage. The PVC sheath also degrades when in direct contact with polystyrene or polyurethane insulation, so cable runs should be physically separated from those materials in wall cavities and ceiling spaces.
