The Pipe Makers RC20HD is a 20mm heavy-duty rigid PVC conduit supplied in a 4 metre length, coloured orange for underground electrical installation. The RC20HD provides mechanical protection for cables run below ground and is manufactured to the AS/NZS 2053 standard for rigid PVC conduit systems. One end is formed as a belled socket that joins to 20mm conduit fittings or to the plain end of another length.
Cables run below ground face crushing loads, shovel strikes, and ground movement that bare or lightly sheathed cable cannot survive. Heavy-duty rigid conduit gives those runs a rigid mechanical barrier sized for direct burial, so the cable inside stays intact under backfill and traffic.
