Application

The 755PSMA2 smoke alarm is a photoelectric smoke alarm that can be used as a single mains powered, battery backed alarm or can be interconnected with other 755 series smoke alarms to give whole home protection. It is designed to be surface mounted on the ceiling. When used with the 755RFB (wireless mounting base), the alarm can offer wireless or wired interlinking capabilities as well are remote test/hush wired functionality.

When used with the 755RB (relay mounting base), the alarm can be used to connect to 3rd party devices such as lights, sirens and home automation systems through a voltage free change-over contact.

Clipsal 755PSMA2 Photoelectric smoke alarm on 25 May 2016

Well made and very easy to install. This was bought to replace an earlier Clipsal photoelectric smoke alarm installed 15 years ago. All smoke alarms in the house are interconnected to a Clipsal 756 isolation relay which is, in turn, connected to the house security system via NC contacts. Clipsal no longer supply smoke alarms with a plug-in base for the mains supply, so it was necessary to remove the old plug, but wiring to the base was easy and straightforward. If you require an interconnected, mains supplied fire and smoke alarm system, you'd be hard pressed to go past Clipsal's models.
