        The Clipsal 3042G is a two gang fixing frame for the Clipsal Iconic range, supplied as a grid plate only. The 3042G carries no switch mechanisms and no cover skin, so both are ordered separately. It measures 115mm high, 71mm wide and 12mm deep, and ships in a polybag with fixing screws.

        An Iconic switch position is built from three separate parts: the grid plate, the mechanisms, and the cover skin. The 3042G supplies the backing grid plate alone, sized for two gangs and fixed with the screws supplied in the pack. It accepts vertical or horizontal mounting, so one part suits both plate orientations.

        Once the 3042G is screwed in place and the mechanisms are fitted, the cover skin fits without special tools. That keeps the finish decision separate from the wiring, so a skin can be swapped later without disturbing the fixed grid plate. The grid is compatible with Iconic cover plates, which lets the finish change while the base stays in place.
