Clipsal by Schneider Electric | Iconic 2 Gang Dimmer and Switch Plate 10A 350W | Vivid White Complete

The Clipsal SD-3042VA-DIM-LIGHT-VW is a two-gang Iconic wall plate with a rotary dimmer and a 10 A switch fitted. Sparky Direct assembles the SD-3042VA-DIM-LIGHT-VW from a 3042C cover, a 3042G grid, a 40M mechanism, an SD Light Dolly and a 40ERDM-VW dimmer. The 40ERDM-VW dimmer handles dimmable LED loads to 350 W at 240 V. Its rated operational current is 1.5 A.

A two-gang position that dims one circuit and switches another carries two different mechanisms in the one grid plate. The SD-3042VA-DIM-LIGHT-VW is supplied with both mechanisms already fitted to the 3042G grid plate. The rotary dimmer is a clip-in 40 Series mechanism measuring 22.8 mm square and 55.4 mm deep. The switched gang sits behind the SD Light Dolly.

The SD-3042VA-DIM-LIGHT-VW arrives made up and ready to fit off by a licensed electrician. The complete assembly covers the cover plate, grid plate, switch mechanism, light dolly and rotary dimmer. The dimmer carries a 350 W rating on dimmable LED at 240 V. The dimmer knob and the cover plate are both finished in Vivid White.

        Features

        • 350 W dimmable LED — the 40ERDM-VW mechanism is rated for dimmable LED loads up to 350 W at 240 V AC.
        • Electronic transformer rated — the same mechanism carries electronic transformer loads up to 350 W.
        • Rotary brightness control — the dimmer sets lamp output by turning the knob rather than by a push button or slider.
        • 1.5 A rated current — the dimmer mechanism carries a rated operational current of 1.5 A.
        • 40M switch mechanism — the SD-3042VA-DIM-LIGHT-VW includes a 40M mechanism rated 10 amp for the second gang.
        • SD Light Dolly fitted — the switched gang is supplied with the SD Light Dolly already in place.
        • Clip-in fixing — the dimmer mechanism clips into the grid plate rather than fixing with screws.
        • Flying lead terminations — the dimmer connects through flying leads at the rear of the mechanism.
        • Complete assembly supplied — the SD-3042VA-DIM-LIGHT-VW ships built up, with the cover, grid, mechanisms and dolly together.
        • Compact mechanism body — the dimmer measures 22.8 mm high, 22.8 mm wide and 55.4 mm deep.
        • IP20 rating — the dimmer mechanism carries no protection rating against water, so it suits interior dry positions only.

        Where to use

        • Two-gang wall positions — the SD-3042VA-DIM-LIGHT-VW controls two separate lighting circuits from one plate.
        • LED downlight circuits — dimmable LED runs drawing up to 350 W at 240 V sit inside the dimmer rating.
        • Transformer-fed fittings — lighting run through electronic transformers up to 350 W is within the dimmer rating.
        • Flush wall boxes — the mechanism is specified for flush mounting, which suits new work and renovation fit-offs.
        • Switched second circuit — the 40M 10 amp mechanism in the SD-3042VA-DIM-LIGHT-VW switches its circuit on and off.

The SD-3042VA-DIM-LIGHT-VW carries an IP20 ingress rating and is not rated against water. Do not install it in outdoor or damp exposed locations, or anywhere subject to splash. The 40ERDM-VW dimmer is specified for light control only and is not rated for loads above 350 W.
