On a mixed bank of 30 Series mechanisms the gangs run different loads, and a plain white rocker gives the user nothing to go on. The SD-LIGHT-TEXT-30M-WE carries the word LIGHT engraved into the dolly face, so the lighting gang reads apart from the rest of the plate. The marking is cut into the polycarbonate rather than printed on top of it. Engraving is the only change made to a standard Clipsal 30M-WE mechanism.
The SD-LIGHT-TEXT-30M-WE is supplied as a mechanism, not a complete switch. It carries up to 10 A at 250 V AC. Fluorescent load is rated to 10 A and LED load to 100 W. Add up the wattage of the fittings on the circuit and check the total sits inside those figures before specifying the mech.
It is an on and off switch only, with no dimming electronics inside. Lights wired through it run at full output whenever the switch is on. Dimming needs a separate mechanism matched to the lamp type on the circuit.
The mechanism is supplied on its own, with no grid plate or cover plate in the pack. You need both to finish the switch. It fits Clipsal Classic, 2000 Series and Standard range plates, the same as the 30M-WE it is built on.
The mech wires for either one-way or two-way control, so the same unit works for a single switch position or a pair. A loop terminal is built in for landing a looped active. Wiring is a licensed electrician's job.
