        CAgroup | Resin Cored Solder Wire 1.6mm 60/40 | 500g Reel

        The CAgroup 01500 is a resin cored solder wire, 1.6 mm in diameter, supplied on a 500 g reel. The alloy is 60/40, marked Sn 60 Pb 40: 60 per cent tin and 40 per cent lead. The 01500 is one of eight wire diameters CAgroup produces across its cored solder range, which runs from 0.56 mm up to 3.2 mm.

        Solder work across an electrical job runs from tinning stranded ends to filling larger joints on lugs and tails. Wire that is too fine burns off before the joint comes up to heat, while heavy gauge floods small terminals. The 01500 sits at 1.6 mm diameter, mid-way through the 0.56 mm to 3.2 mm range CAgroup produces. Flux is carried inside the wire core, which is what the term cored solder describes.

        The 01500 is a leaded alloy carrying 40 per cent lead. It is not a lead-free solder and cannot be used where a lead-free alloy is specified. The flux core is resin based, so the 01500 is not an acid core wire and does not suit work calling for acid flux.
