The Clipsal 30ERPBDM-WE is a rotary push dimmer mechanism from the Clipsal 30 Series, rated 350W at 220-240V AC. Turning the control sets the light level and pressing it switches the load on and off. The 30ERPBDM-WE uses trailing edge phase control and takes LED, incandescent and electronic transformer loads. It complies with AS/NZS 60669.2.1 and AS/NZS CISPR-15, and is supplied as a mechanism in White Electric.
Hallways, stairwells and open living areas are often switched from two or three positions, so the dimming has to work from each of them. The 30ERPBDM-WE can be wired with four dimmers on one circuit, each able to dim and switch. It suits new two-way and three-way wiring, or existing two-way and three-way switch wiring being changed over to dimming. Load cable runs up to 50m between dimmers, with 100m total from the first dimmer to the last.
Fit-off is the standard mechanism sequence: pull the knob off the shaft, clip the mechanism into the grid plate, land the flying leads, then refit the knob. The 30ERPBDM-WE runs a 2-wire configuration with flying lead terminals. Minimum brightness, maximum brightness, kick start and the indicator mode are set from the knob, using short presses rather than a programmer or app.

- Non-resettable thermal fuse — persistent or extreme overload blows a backup fuse that cannot be replaced, leaving the dimmer permanently out of service.
- Mechanism only — supplied as a mechanism, so a grid plate and cover are needed to mount it.
Where to use
- Hall and stair circuits — positions switched from two or three points can be dimmed at each one using linked 30ERPBDM-WE mechanisms.
- Bedrooms — the sleep ramp takes the light from its current level down to off over 20 minutes.
- LED downlight circuits — living and media spaces running dimmable LED downlights inside the 350W load ceiling.
- Grid plate retrofits — the 30ERPBDM-WE clips into a 30 Series grid plate where an existing mechanism is being changed out.
- Incandescent changeovers — circuits moving from incandescent lamps to LED, where the one dimmer takes both load types.
The 30ERPBDM-WE carries an IP20 rating, so it suits dry indoor positions only, not outdoor, damp or splash exposed locations. It is listed for light control only, taking LED, incandescent and electronic transformer loads, so motor loads sit outside its rating. Loads stay inside the 350W LED ceiling and above the 3W minimum, with derating applied on multi-gang plates.
