The Clipsal 30PM is a 2-way switch mechanism rated 10A at 250V AC, marked DISPOSAL on the rocker surface. The 30PM is a Series 30 Standard Series basic element, so it mounts flush behind a separate grid plate and cover. The mechanism is supplied on its own. A Clipsal Series 30 grid plate and cover plate are ordered separately and chosen to suit the number of positions required, for example the 2031VH-WE one gang grid and surround for a single mechanism.
The switch function is 2-way, so the mechanism can be wired for two-way switching from separate points, or used as a standard one-way switch on a single point. How it is wired depends on the circuit run to the location.
Installation and wiring of the mechanism must be carried out by a licensed electrician in accordance with AS/NZS 3000. The mechanism connects to fixed wiring behind the wall face and mounts flush within a grid plate, which is not customer-installable work.
Clipsal provides a one year domestic and one year commercial warranty, starting from the invoice date. Warranty is handled through Clipsal in-home service, meaning claims are managed directly by Clipsal without removing the product. Warranty is void if the product is not installed by a licensed electrician.
The Schneider Electric data sheet lists no IP rating for this mechanism, so it is for indoor use in dry locations only. It is not suitable for external walls, damp exposed positions, or any location subject to splash, spray, or rain.
