The Clipsal 414-WE is a twin surface socket outlet rated 10 A at 250 V AC, supplied as a complete plastic housing. The 414-WE carries two three pin outlets in one body and fixes to the face of the wall by screws. Cable enters from the rear, and the terminal bores take up to four 4 sq mm conductors. It complies with AS 3100, AS 3109 and AS/NZS 3112.
Solid brick, besser block and fibro walls give no cavity to sink a flush wall box into. Cutting a recessed point into masonry means chasing the wall or building out a mounting block first. The 414-WE screws to the face of the wall, with the cable entering from the rear. Two outlets land at the one position, so a single point covers two 10 A appliances.
The 414-WE suits positions where the wall stays closed: garages, workshops, sheds and masonry interiors. It arrives as a complete housing, so the body, terminals and outlets come as one assembled part. Fixing is by screws through the base of the housing, straight into the wall surface.
No IP rating is declared for the 414-WE, so it is not a weatherproof socket and belongs indoors. Keep it out of outdoor and weather exposed positions, and away from wet areas and splash zones where water can reach the housing.
(414-WE)
The 414-WE is a surface mounted socket outlet. It fixes by screws directly to the wall face on 50 mm fixing centres, so no recessed wall box is needed. Cable enters from the rear of the housing.
The terminal bores accommodate up to four 4 sq mm conductors, with one looping terminal so the point can feed on to the next outlet on the circuit. Confirm cable size against the circuit design and AS/NZS 3000 before terminating.
The 414-WE complies with AS 3100, AS 3109 and AS/NZS 3112. The three pin outlet pattern follows AS/NZS 3112, the Australian and New Zealand plug and socket outlet standard.
No IP rating is declared for the 414-WE, so it is not suited to outdoor, weather exposed or wet locations. Install it in dry interior positions only. A weather exposed position calls for a socket outlet with a declared IP rating.
The housing measures 72 mm long, 65 mm wide and 63 mm deep. Allow for that depth where furniture, appliances or benches sit hard against the wall, since a plug and lead sit proud of the socket as well.
The contractual warranty period is 18 months. Warranty claims on Clipsal products are handled by Clipsal. Keep the invoice as proof of purchase.
