Clipsal by Schneider Electric | Iconic Essence Cooking Appliance Isolator 45A 250V Single Pole | Ash Grey Birch Complete

The Clipsal E3041-45-AG is a cooking appliance isolator switch rated 45 A 250 V, built on the Clipsal Iconic platform with an Iconic Essence cooker plate in Ash Grey. It is a single pole switch, so it breaks the active conductor to the appliance. The E3041-45-AG ships with the switch grid, the 45 A isolator mechanism and the Essence cooker plate. The plate is a one gang cooker plate carrying two rocker positions, made from birch timber with a matt surface finish.

The isolator is the one switch in the kitchen that has to sit out in the open, within reach of the cooktop and away from it. In a dark kitchen a white plate that size reads as a bright patch on the wall. The E3041-45-AG carries an Ash Grey timber plate instead of moulded plastic, so the isolator sits with dark joinery rather than against it. The plate is 8.5 mm deep, which keeps the finished face close to the wall.

The E3041-45-AG fits off like the rest of the Iconic platform. The mechanism and the plate are both rated for horizontal or vertical installation, so the same part suits a plate turned to sit above a benchtop or one running upright beside the joinery. The plate uses a clip-on fixing, so the finish can be changed later without disturbing the grid or the mechanism. Mounting is flush to a standard wall box.

        Features

        • Isolator and plate supplied together — the E3041-45-AG includes the switch grid, the 45 A isolator mechanism and the Essence cooker plate.
        • Rated 45 A — sized for the dedicated circuits used by fixed cooking appliances rather than general-purpose lighting or socket circuits.
        • Single pole switching — the mechanism breaks the active conductor to the appliance.
        • Two rocker positions — the cooker plate carries two rocker positions rather than the single aperture used on a standard one gang plate.
        • Rocker marked Cooker — the isolator actuator carries a Cooker marking, so the switch is identifiable at a glance on the wall.
        • Screw terminals — the mechanism terminates on screw terminals.
        • Horizontal or vertical installation — both the mechanism and the plate are rated for either orientation, so one part covers both wall positions.
        • Clip-on plate — the Essence plate clips to the grid and lifts off again for cleaning or a finish change.
        • Birch timber plate — the plate is timber, not moulded plastic, so grain and tone vary slightly between plates.
        • Ash Grey finish — the face is Ash Grey, a dark coated finish over the birch timber.
        • Matt surface finish — the plate is matt rather than gloss, so a dark face holds less shine under downlights.
        • Rated 0 to 45 degrees C — the plate is specified for ambient temperatures of 0 to 45 degrees C and relative humidity of 10 to 95 per cent.

        Where to use

        • Electric cooktop isolation — the 45 A rating suits the dedicated circuit feeding a fixed cooktop.
        • Wall oven isolation — a single pole isolator gives a fixed oven its own local switching point.
        • Dark kitchen joinery — the Ash Grey plate suits walnut, blackbutt and stained cabinetry where a white plate would jump out.
        • Kitchens with black hardware — a dark plate sits with matt black handles, tapware and rangehood finishes.
        • Benchtop splashback runs — horizontal installation suits a plate turned to sit in line above a bench.
        • Upright positions beside cabinetry — vertical installation suits a plate running with the lines of a tall cupboard or pantry.
        • Kitchen renovations — the kit covers a straight swap of an existing 45 A isolator during a refresh.

The E3041-45-AG switches the active conductor only. Where double pole isolation is called for, whether by the appliance instructions or by the installation requirements, this is not the right unit. It is also not weatherproof and carries no IP rating, so keep it out of outdoor and exposed positions. The timber plate is specified for indoor ambient conditions only, so damp or unventilated rooms sit outside its rated humidity range.

        (E3041-45-AG)

The E3041-45-AG is supplied as a kit. You get the switch grid, the 45 A single pole cooking appliance isolator mechanism, and the Iconic Essence cooker plate in Ash Grey. It is built from the Clipsal 3041-45VW isolator and the E3041/45C-AG Essence cooker plate.

A licensed electrician has to do the install. It is fixed wiring on a dedicated appliance circuit, so it is electrical work. The switch mounts flush to a standard wall box and fits off like the rest of the Iconic platform once the wiring is landed.

The Essence cooker plate is a one gang cooker plate with two rocker positions, rather than the single aperture used on a standard one gang plate. The 45 A isolator sits behind it. Confirm how you want the second position handled with your installer before you order.

Single pole. It breaks the active conductor to the appliance and leaves the neutral connected. If the appliance instructions or the installation requirements call for both conductors to be broken, you need a double pole isolator instead. Check that before you order.

Yes. Both the mechanism and the Essence plate are rated for horizontal or vertical installation, so the same parts suit a plate sitting in line above a bench or running upright beside cabinetry. Confirm the orientation on site, since the wall box position sets what works.

Both plates are birch timber with a matt finish and the same 131 by 85 mm outline. Ash Grey is a dark coated face. Arctic White is a pale face with the birch edge left raw. The grid, mechanism and fit-off are identical between the two.

Fixed cooking appliances on their own dedicated circuit, such as an electric cooktop or a wall oven. The 45 A rating covers the current these appliances draw. Check the appliance nameplate against the circuit rating, and confirm the correct size with the installer before ordering.
