The Hager ADC906T is a 1P+N residual current breaker with overcurrent protection (RCBO), rated 6A on a C curve with 30mA earth leakage sensitivity. The ADC906T combines miniature circuit breaker overcurrent protection and Type A residual current detection in a single 1-module DIN rail device, with a 6kA short-circuit breaking capacity to IEC 60898-1. It operates at 230 to 240V AC and complies with AS/NZS 61009-1 for the Australian market. The device guards a single final subcircuit against earth leakage, thermal overload, and short circuit.
Domestic and light commercial boards run short of space during retrofit and new build work, and every circuit that needs both earth leakage and overload protection can eat two positions. The ADC906T puts both functions in a single 1-module footprint, 17.7mm wide, so one device covers what a separate RCD and MCB would. Its Type A residual current detection catches both AC and pulsating DC leakage from modern electronic loads, which a Type AC device does not see.
The ADC906T lands on a standard DIN rail and takes screw terminals at the top, with a biconnect bottom terminal for pin busbar connection. The 1-module width frees positions for extra circuits without oversizing the board, and the C curve at 6A suits low-current lighting and control subcircuits. Its non-sensitive line and load terminals mean orientation is not fixed, which simplifies a like-for-like swap on an existing board.
The Hager ADC906T is a modular device for enclosure installation only and is not rated for exposed or standalone mounting outside a switchboard. It is a Type A device and is not suitable for circuits where smooth DC or high-harmonic leakage is expected, which require a Type B or Type F RCBO. It does not provide protection above its 30mA sensitivity or 6A rating.
(ADC906T)
The ADC906T is a residual current breaker with overcurrent protection (RCBO). It combines two functions in one module: it detects earth leakage at 30mA and trips, and it detects overload and short circuit on a 6A C curve and interrupts the circuit. One device replaces a separate RCD and MCB.
The ADC906T is a Type A RCBO complying with AS/NZS 61009-1, the Australian and New Zealand standard for RCBOs. It is rated 6kA short-circuit breaking capacity to IEC 60898-1. Look for RCM marking and source from an authorised Australian supply chain for warranty and inspection purposes.
Type A means the device detects both AC residual currents and pulsating DC residual currents. Modern electronic loads such as LED drivers and switch-mode power supplies produce pulsating DC leakage that a Type AC device cannot see. Type A is the default RCD class for general final subcircuits in current Australian practice.
Installation must be carried out by a licensed electrician. The ADC906T clips onto DIN rail inside a switchboard and must be tested and commissioned, including correct RCD testing and installation documentation. Wiring inside a live switchboard is licensed electrical work and cannot be done as a DIY task in Australia.
The ADC906T uses a biconnect bottom terminal that lands on a Hager single-phase pin busbar, such as the Onekonekt system, so each device does not need individual wiring to the active and neutral bars. Confirm the correct busbar and pole count for your board layout before ordering.
The ADC906T is rated 6A at 30 degrees C. Rated current derates as ambient temperature rises, to around 5.70A at 40 degrees C and 5.20A at 60 degrees C, and increases below 30 degrees C, per the datasheet derating table. Size the circuit against the ambient conditions inside the board.
The ADC906T is a Type A RCBO and suits general final subcircuits. Circuits where smooth DC leakage or significant harmonic currents are expected need a Type B or Type F RCBO instead. The ADC906T also does not cover designs requiring sensitivity other than 30mA or a rating other than 6A.
