The VDV501-852 kit contains the Scout Pro 3 tester, a self-storing Test + Map remote, 18 RJ45 LAN locator remotes, and 18 F-coax locator remotes. Also supplied are two coax barrel adapters, RJ45, RJ11, and RJ12 jumper cables, a carrying case, and a 9V battery.
The Scout Pro 3 tests RJ11 4-wire and RJ12 6-wire voice cabling, RJ45 8-wire data cabling, and F-connector terminated coaxial runs. Jumper cables for each connector type are supplied in the kit.
Hub blink mode drives the port LED on a hub or switch so that it flashes. That shows which port serves the outlet under test, without unplugging patch leads to trace the run by hand.
Length measurement runs to 610 metres. Measuring pairs individually helps narrow down where a break sits on a faulty run, rather than replacing a whole cable that may be sound for most of its length.
