Martec | Proton DC Ceiling Fan 1220mm 36W DC Motor | Matt White
The Martec MPDC124W is a 1220mm four-blade DC ceiling fan rated 220-240V AC, driven by a 36W brushless motor. The MPDC124W is finished in matt white, with an all-ABS body, canopy and blades. It is rated for indoor and covered outdoor positions and carries a two-year in-home warranty.
A fan going up under a verandah or roofed patio has to be rated for that position, not just for indoor rooms. Drop below the ceiling matters too, because the blades have to clear head height. The MPDC124W is rated for indoor and covered outdoor use and hangs at a 300mm drop. Air movement runs to 12,000 m3/hr on speed three.
The MPDC124W uses fast fix blades. The fan is hard-wired to a 220-240V AC supply at 50-60Hz, so installation is a licensed electrician job. The wall control is supplied with the fan, but the wall plate is not included and will need to be ordered.
Features
- 36W brushless DC motor — the motor is brushless, runs quiet and draws 36W at top speed.
- 1220mm blade span — the MPDC124W measures 1220mm, or 48 inches, tip to tip across the blades.
- All-ABS construction — the blades, body and canopy are all ABS.
- 12.5 degree blade pitch — the blades are set at a fixed 12.5 degree pitch.
- Airflow to 12,000 m3/hr — 12,000 m3/hr on speed three, 10,368 on two and 9,380 on one.
- 210 RPM maximum — blade speed tops out at 210 RPM.
- 333 m3/hr per watt — airflow efficiency reaches up to 333 m3/hr for every watt drawn.
- Wall control supplied — the wall control ships in the carton and drives all three speeds.
- Reverse from the knob — the wall control knob switches the fan between summer and winter rotation.
- Two-year in-home warranty — Martec covers the MPDC124W for two years and handles the claim at the installed position.
- No light fitting — the MPDC124W is a fan-only model, with no lamp holder or driver in the canopy.
Where to use
- Bedroom positions — speed one on the MPDC124W moves 9,380 m3/hr.
- Covered patios and verandahs — the MPDC124W is rated for covered outdoor positions, so it goes under a roof line or a solid patio cover.
- Rooms with lower ceilings — the 300mm drop keeps the MPDC124W close to the ceiling where height is limited.
- Wall-switched positions — the fan is driven from the supplied wall control at the wall plate, not a handset.
- Long-run positions — airflow efficiency runs up to 333 m3/hr per watt.
The MPDC124W is rated for indoor and covered outdoor positions only. No IP rating is listed on the datasheet, so it is not suitable for exposed outdoor locations, open decks, or anywhere in direct weather. It carries no light fitting, and installation must be carried out by a licensed electrician.
