The NLS 30916 is an IP66 lockable steel enclosure measuring 500 x 400 x 200mm, manufactured from 1.2mm cold rolled steel in a RAL7035 light grey finish. The 30916 is rated 240V single phase and 450V three phase at 50/60Hz, and is approved to AS/NZS. It ships with a mounting plate, ground cable, installation brackets, and an MS705 cam lock.
An enclosure installed outdoors or in a wash-down area fails at the door seal long before the steel gives way. A PU foam sealing strip is what delivers the IP66 rating, keeping dust out entirely and withstanding powerful water jets from any direction. The 1.2mm cold rolled steel body resists the impact and tampering that a polycarbonate enclosure does not.
Security matters as much as weatherproofing on infrastructure sited where the public can reach it. The MS705 cam lock restricts access to key holders, and the enclosure is classified vandal resistant and fire retardant by the manufacturer. A 1.2mm mounting plate ships inside, so equipment mounts without a separate backing panel purchase.

The 30916 is an empty enclosure: switchgear, DIN rail, glands, and cable entries are specified and fitted separately. IP66 covers water jets, not immersion, so the enclosure is not rated for submerged or flood-prone positions. Installation must be carried out to manufacturer specification by a licensed electrician, and any penetration cut for glands or accessories affects the sealed rating.
