The Robus RHEMW-04 is a plug-in microwave sensor for the Robus Harbour Express range, which switches the fitting on detected movement and can hold it at a reduced standby level before switching off. The RHEMW-04 operates on 220-240V AC, detects across 360 degrees, and mounts to a maximum height of 5 metres with a detection zone up to 10 metres in diameter. It is Class II double insulated and rated IP20.
A batten in a corridor or store room delivers full output whether or not anybody occupies the space. Switching it off entirely on a timer irritates occupants, who subsequently walk into darkness and grope for a switch. The RHEMW-04 resolves both difficulties with 3 step dimming. The fitting reduces to a 10 or 30 percent standby level rather than extinguishing, and a daylight threshold between 2 and 50 lux inhibits operation while daylight suffices.
The sensor clips into the marked position on the Harbour Express gear tray and connects on quick-fix connectors. A fitting converts to sensor control in the time required to open the diffuser. DIP switch 9 selects between straight on/off operation and the 3 step dimming corridor function, and a configurable standby period determines how long the reduced level persists.
The RHEMW-04 is rated IP20 and suits indoor positions only, not exterior or damp locations. Robus states the detected surface of the sensor cannot be shielded by metal objects, so the mounting position must leave the sensor face clear. The sensor is rated between -20 and +40 degrees Celsius, so positions running hotter than that fall outside the range.
