        Major Tech | Laser Distance Meter 100m | IP54 Class I Laser

The Major Tech MT152 is a professional laser distance meter rated to measure from 0.05 to 100 metres with typical accuracy of ±1mm. The MT152 stores the last 20 measurements and transfers them over Bluetooth 4.0 to Android or iOS devices through the Meterbox iLDM app. Its Class I laser and IP54 double-moulded rubber case make it splash proof and dust resistant for outdoor and site work.

Measuring long runs by hand ties up two people and introduces tape error across a large site. The MT152 takes an accurate one-person reading to remote or hard-to-reach points, with shortcut keys for addition, subtraction, area, and volume. Indirect Pythagoras and tilt-sensor measurement work out heights and clearances that a tape measure cannot reach directly.

For estimating and fit-out work, the MT152 puts distance, area, and volume on a four-line display in seconds, which speeds up quoting and set-out. The stake-out function marks repeated set distances, and continuous measurement tracks minimum and maximum as the operator moves. Readings sync to the app, so figures come off the tool and into a quote without re-keying.

        Features

        • Measuring range — the MT152 reads from 0.05 to 100 metres, covering most site and estimating distances in a single tool.
        • Typical accuracy — measures to ±1mm typically, with the smallest displayed unit down to 1mm.
        • Bluetooth 4.0 transfer — sends readings to the Meterbox iLDM app on Android or iOS for viewing, organising, and sharing.
        • Area and volume keys — shortcut keys work out area and volume directly, without separate hand calculation.
        • Pythagoras measurement — indirect measurement uses Pythagoras to find distances the laser cannot reach in a straight line.
        • Tilt sensor — measures angles up to ±65 degrees and supports indirect measurement using the built-in tilt sensor.
        • Continuous measurement and timer — self-triggering timer and continuous mode track a reading as the operator repositions.
        • Min and max tracking — records the minimum and maximum distance across a sweep for diagonal and clearance checks.
        • Stake-out function — marks repeated set-out distances along a run for spacing points and fixings.
        • Four-line display — the MT152 has a multi-line display with illumination that shows several values at once and reads in low light.
        • IP54 rated — the double-moulded rubber case is splash proof and dust resistant, but not submersible or rated for heavy water exposure.
        • 2 x AAA operation — runs on 2 x AAA batteries and stores the last 20 measurements on the tool.

        Where to use

        • Site measurement and set-out — the MT152 reads long internal and external runs for framing, cabling, and fit-out set-out.
        • Estimating and quoting — area and volume keys speed up take-offs when pricing a room or a whole job.
        • Cable and conduit runs — measures runs to remote points before ordering cable or conduit lengths.
        • Ceiling and high-level work — tilt-sensor and Pythagoras functions reach heights a tape cannot measure directly.
        • Outdoor measurement — the IP54 case suits splash and dust exposure on outdoor and rough sites.
        • Solar and roof layout — the MT152 measures roof planes and spacing for panel and rail layout.
        • Fit-out and joinery — marks repeated stake-out distances for shelving, fixings, and even spacing.

The MT152 is not submersible and is not rated for heavy rain or immersion, only splash and dust under IP54. Measuring accuracy can drop on very bright surfaces or against poor targets at the far end of the 100 metre span. It is a measuring instrument, not a levelling or survey-grade instrument for precision surveying.

        (MT152)

The Major Tech MT152 uses a Class I laser, the lowest laser safety class, which is safe for normal use without eye protection. Avoid staring directly into the beam and do not aim it at people or reflective surfaces near the eyes. It is designed for professional measuring on site.

Point the MT152 at the target, press the measure key, and the four-line display shows the distance. Shortcut keys switch to area, volume, addition, subtraction, and Pythagoras. Continuous mode updates the reading as you move, and the stake-out function marks repeated set distances along a run.

The MT152 uses Bluetooth 4.0 to send readings to the Meterbox iLDM app on Android or iOS. The app lets you view, organise, and share recordings, and the tool also links to the Meterbox cloud service. The last 20 measurements are stored on the tool for transfer.

The MT152 measures from 0.05 to 100 metres with typical accuracy of ±1mm and a smallest displayed unit of 1mm. It reads in metres or feet. Accuracy can vary at the far end of the range or against very bright or poor target surfaces outdoors.

The MT152 runs on 2 x AAA batteries, fitted in the base of the tool. A low-battery indicator shows when they need replacing. The tool stores the last 20 measurements, and display illumination and continuous measurement draw more power, so keep spare AAA cells on hand for long measuring sessions.

The MT152 carries a 2-year warranty for both domestic and commercial use, starting from the invoice date. The warranty method is return to Sparky Direct, who forward the meter to Major Tech's authorised service centre for assessment, testing, and calibration. Proof of purchase is required for any claim.

The MT152 has an IP54 double-moulded rubber case that is splash proof and dust resistant, so it handles outdoor site use and light rain. It is not submersible and is not rated for heavy water exposure or immersion. Wipe it dry after use and store it in a dry case.

The Major Tech MT152 is available online from Sparky Direct, with Australia-wide delivery to any state or territory including regional areas. Sparky Direct is an Australian electrical wholesaler established in 2005, supplying more than 500,000 customers with transparent trade pricing.
