The Clipsal 9040CHD-EO is a heavy duty flexible PVC corrugated conduit measuring 40mm external and 30.2mm internal diameter, supplied on a 25 metre coil. The 9040CHD-EO is manufactured in electric orange, the colour code that identifies buried and concealed electrical services. It conforms to AS/NZS 61386 and carries an ambient operating range of minus 15 to 60 degrees C.
Cable run through a slab, a wall cavity, or a trench has to be protected from abrasion during the pour and identifiable to anyone excavating years later. Corrugated conduit in electric orange performs both functions, and the heavy duty wall withstands the mechanical loading of concrete placement and backfill that medium duty conduit does not.
The 25 metre coil length covers most domestic and light commercial runs without a joint, and every joint eliminated is a potential water ingress point removed. A 30.2mm internal diameter accepts substantial cable bundles or larger multicore, and the flexible corrugated wall negotiates bends and offsets without heat forming or elbow fittings.

- Sub-main and larger circuit runs — the 30.2mm bore suits multicore and heavier bundles that smaller conduit will not carry.
- Commercial and industrial rough-in — extended runs where the 25 metre coil reduces joints across the installation.
- Solar and outbuilding supply — protected runs from switchboard to array isolator or detached structure.
The 9040CHD-EO is rated to a maximum ambient of 60 degrees C and is not suitable adjacent to flues, high-temperature plant, or unventilated roof spaces exceeding that figure. Corrugated conduit is not a rigid conduit substitute where the installation calls for a self-supporting run. Fittings are not supplied, so couplings, adaptors, and saddles are ordered separately.
