        Lerin Tools | Phillips PH2 Driver Bit 150mm | Impact-Rated S2 Tool Steel

        The Lerin Tools LT-PH2-150 is a 150mm Phillips PH2 driver bit made from impact-rated S2 tool steel, supplied as a two pack. The LT-PH2-150 has a 1/4 inch hex shank that seats in drill drivers, impact drivers and quick-change bit holders. The magnetised tip holds the screw on the bit through the approach.

        A standard 25mm insert bit puts the chuck hard against the surface, which leaves recessed and obstructed fasteners difficult to access. Cam-out follows, and a chewed Phillips recess means drilling the fastener out or accepting an assembly that never comes apart cleanly again. The 150mm shaft maintains clearance between the tool body and surrounding cabinetry, brackets or framing members. A precision-machined PH2 tip seats completely into the recess, transferring torque into the fastener rather than skating across the surface.

        Electrical fit-off progresses faster when the driver reaches the fastener without dismantling the fitting beforehand. The magnetised tip retains the screw throughout the approach, which matters on ceiling installations where a dropped fastener costs another trip down the ladder. Impact-rated S2 tool steel absorbs the hammer pulses an impact driver generates instead of shearing at the shank.         The Lerin Tools LT-PH2-150 drives Phillips PH2 fasteners only. It is not shaped for Pozidriv, square drive or Torx recesses, and forcing a Phillips tip into a Pozidriv head damages both. It is also not a PH1 or PH3 bit, so smaller and larger cross recesses call for the matching tip size.

        The LT-PH2-150 is made from impact-rated S2 tool steel and is specified for impact drivers as well as standard drill drivers. The 1/4 inch hex shank fits impact driver collets, quick-change holders and three-jaw chucks.

        PH2 is the most common cross recess on general construction screws, decking screws, chipboard screws and a large share of electrical and hardware fasteners. Check the recess on the screw head before driving, because a PH2 tip will not seat correctly in a Pozidriv or square drive fastener.

        The extra length reaches screws set deep in recesses or behind obstructions, and keeps the drill body clear of the surrounding surface. That matters in cabinetry, framing and enclosure work where a short bit forces the chuck against the job or against an adjacent member.

        The magnetised tip holds the screw on the bit while the fastener is positioned and started. That frees a hand on overhead work, on ladders and in confined spaces, and reduces screws dropped into wall cavities or ceiling voids.

        A Phillips tip does not seat correctly in a Pozidriv recess. The two profiles differ, so the tip contacts on the wrong faces, cams out under torque and damages both the screw head and the bit. Match the bit profile to the fastener recess.

        The LT-PH2-150 is supplied as a two pack. Driver bit tips are a wear item, so a spare on hand avoids stopping mid fit-off when the first tip starts to round out under repeated impact driving.
