Major Tech | ECCT300 Battery Powered Crimping and Cutting Tool 24kN | 300mm2 Copper Capacity

The Major Tech ECCT300 is a battery-powered hydraulic multitool that crimps and cuts, rated at 24kN with a 30mm stroke. It crimps copper up to 300mm2 and aluminium up to 240mm2, and cuts copper or aluminium cable to 30mm diameter. The ECCT300 carries a 350 degree rotating crimping head and an OLED display for crimping time, battery charge, and fault codes. It ships as a kit with eleven dies, interchangeable heads, two 18V 2.0Ah batteries, a charger, and a carry case.

A combined crimper and cutter earns its place by removing the second tool from the vehicle. The ECCT300 runs interchangeable crimping and cutting heads on one body, with a 350 degree rotating crimping head for confined or overhead positions. At 11.7kg packed it is the more portable of the two combined tools Major Tech offers. A two-stage hydraulic system drives the ram through its 30mm stroke.

The specification that determines suitability sits in the cutting range. Major Tech states the ECCT300 is not suitable for cutting fine or extra fine stranded cables, a limitation repeated twice in the technical data. Flexible welding lead and fine-stranded control cable therefore fall outside its scope regardless of diameter. Confirm the conductor construction, not simply the diameter, before committing the tool to a job.

        Features

        • 24kN rated pressure — the ECCT300 is rated at 24kN of hydraulic force at the head.
        • Crimper and cutter in one body — crimping and cutting heads are interchangeable on the same tool.
        • 300mm2 copper capacity — crimps copper conductors from 16 to 300mm2 and aluminium from 16 to 240mm2.
        • 30mm cutting capacity — cuts copper and aluminium cable to 30mm diameter.
        • 30mm stroke — the ram travels a 30mm stroke through each cycle.
        • Eleven crimping dies supplied — dies from 16mm2 through to 300mm2 are included in the kit.
        • 350 degree rotating head — the ECCT300 crimping head rotates 350 degrees for confined-space and overhead access.
        • Two-stage hydraulic system — the ram operates in two stages to develop force at the crimp.
        • OLED display — reports crimping time, battery charge, maintenance reminders, and fault codes.
        • In-line grip — the handle sits in line with the tool body, intended for overhead and single-operator work.
        • 18V 2.0Ah batteries — two 2.0Ah lithium batteries and a 100V to 240V charger are supplied.
        • Not for fine stranded cable — Major Tech states the ECCT300 cutting head does not suit fine or extra fine stranded conductors.

        Where to use

        • Cable jointing and terminations — the ECCT300 crimps lugs and ferrules across the 16 to 300mm2 range.
        • Switchboard and panel building — bench crimping of mains and submain terminations during assembly.
        • Overhead and confined work — the rotating head and in-line grip suit a pit, a riser, or a ceiling space.
        • Solar and battery installations — stranded DC cable terminations within the copper and aluminium range.
        • Site work away from power — battery operation removes the need for a lead or a hydraulic hand pump.
        • Mixed crimp and cut jobs — the ECCT300 changes head rather than requiring a second tool on the van.

Major Tech states the ECCT300 is not suitable for cutting fine or extra fine stranded cables, which rules out flexible welding lead and fine-stranded control cable. Crimping tops out at 300mm2 copper and 240mm2 aluminium, and cutting at 30mm diameter, so larger work needs a tool sized for it. A hydraulic tool develops substantial force at the head, so keep hands clear and work to the manufacturer's instructions.

        (ECCT300)

Copper conductors from 16 to 300mm2 and aluminium from 16 to 240mm2. Rated pressure is 24kN with a 30mm stroke. Eleven dies covering that range are supplied, and the die must match the lug being terminated.

It cuts copper and aluminium cable to 30mm diameter. Major Tech states it is not suitable for cutting fine or extra fine stranded cables, so check conductor construction rather than diameter alone before use.

The heads are interchangeable on the same tool body. That keeps one battery platform and one carry case covering both crimping and cutting rather than carrying two separate tools.

Crimping time, battery charge level, maintenance reminders, and fault codes. That puts service status and any fault indication on the screen rather than leaving it to be noticed mid-job.

The crimping and cutting tool, crimping dies, interchangeable heads, a battery charger, two 18V 2.0Ah lithium batteries, a strap, and a carry case. Major Tech supplies this tool as a complete kit.

The ECCT300 crimps to 300mm2 and cuts to 30mm at 24kN, packed at 11.7kg. The ECCT450 crimps to 400mm2 and cuts to 65mm plus 50mm armoured at 120kN, packed at 20.8kg.

Major Tech lists the cutting range as 30mm copper or aluminium cable and does not state an armoured cable rating. The ECCT450 is the model in the range that carries a published armoured cutting capacity.
