The Volt Safety MAT0-K is an insulated electrical safety mat kit rated Class 0 1000V, built to isolate an operator from ground potential during work on or near live equipment. The MAT0-K measures 1m x 1m, is 2.2mm thick, and is made from grey EPDM rubber with an anti-slip finish on both sides. It complies with AS/NZS IEC 61111, the standard for electrical insulating matting.
Electricians working on energised equipment need to break the path to earth that a conductive floor provides. A concrete slab, steel mezzanine, or damp switch room makes the operator a conductive route to ground potential.
