Learn more by watching our Cabac Blue monkey | plug point level stencil video.
The Cabac Blue Monkey is a C-bracket stencil tool for marking plug point and light switch cutouts in plasterboard. The stencil includes built-in level indication (both vertical and horizontal) and a centre mark to ensure accurate, square holes every time. The MONKEY cuts installation time and reduces errors on residential and renovation jobs where precision is critical.
Installing power points on renovation jobs and new builds often means marking and cutting holes in plasterboard for C-bracket mounting. The challenge is maintaining level alignment and accurate spacing between multiple outlets on the same wall. This task can take several minutes per outlet when done freehand. The Cabac Blue Monkey solves this problem by combining stencil marking with built-in level guides, so electricians and apprentices can mark holes that are perfectly level and correctly spaced in seconds rather than minutes.
Licensed electricians value the MONKEY on high-volume renovation jobs where fast, repeatable accuracy matters. The compact design fits in a top pocket so it's always on hand when running cable and setting out power point positions. The clear centre-mark and level guides mean apprentices can achieve professional results with minimal supervision. On jobs involving multiple outlets per wall, the time saving adds up quickly—making it a practical tool that pays for itself in the first handful of installations.
Plasterboard-only tool — not suitable for concrete, brick, or external walls. The Cabac Blue Monkey is designed specifically for marking holes in standard plasterboard (drywall) interior walls with C-bracket mounting. It is not intended for use on concrete blocks, rendered brick, polycarbonate, cladding, or any masonry surface where different drilling and mounting methods apply.
Instructions for use:
1. Measure the position desired for the plug point and mark the centre point of the hole you wish to cut for a C-bracket.
2. Check for studs, metal brackets and power cords behind the plasterboard using a suitable stud finder.
3. If there are no studs, place the Blue MonkeyTM and match the cross-hair in the centre with the marked point on the plasterboard.
4. Check that the Blue MonkeyTM is level (horizontally or vertically) and draw around the stencil with a pencil or pen.
5. Using a Wall Board Saw, cut around the outline.
6. Place a C-bracket in the cut-out hole.
7. Connect and fit the plug point.
