The PS20 joins 20mm rigid PVC conduit to a threaded entry on an enclosure, adaptable box or switchboard. Rigid conduit goes into the plain socket end. The threaded end passes through the box entry and is locked off with the supplied lock ring.
A lock ring is supplied with the adaptor. It threads onto the spigot from inside the enclosure and clamps the fitting against the box wall, holding the conduit entry firm without extra bracing.
The plain socket end is PVC and solvent cements to PVC conduit using standard conduit glue. The conduit is cut square, pushed into the socket, and the glue sets the joint. The threaded end is a mechanical fix and is not glued.
The PS20 is a medium duty fitting, which suits general domestic and light commercial conduit work. Where a job specifies heavy duty conduit for impact protection or burial, a medium duty adaptor is not the correct fitting for that run.
The adaptor is built around a 20mm internal diameter and takes 20mm grey rigid PVC conduit. It will not accept 25mm or larger conduit. The body measures 26mm across and 36mm long, so it sits close against the enclosure wall.
