Additional related video.
The Wago 887-957 is a compact splicing connector set that pairs 4mm2 and 6mm2 lever connectors from the 221 series in an L-BOXX Mini carry case. The 887-957 holds 235 connectors across six types, covering 2, 3, and 5 conductor joints from 0.14 to 6mm2. Each 221 connector is rated to 450V and joins solid, stranded, and fine-stranded conductors. An orange lever makes every connection tool-free and reusable, and the transparent housing shows full conductor insertion.
A job that mixes lighting circuits with heavier sub-main runs frequently needs several connector types inside a single enclosure. Loose bags create problems: the 6mm2 connector runs out first, or the required conductor count is unavailable when the board is only half made off. This set keeps 2, 3, and 5 conductor connectors in both 4mm2 and 6mm2 sizes, so the correct termination is always in the case. The graded L-BOXX Mini tray keeps every 221 type sorted rather than tipped loose into a pouch.
For a working sparky, the lever mechanism completes a joint in seconds with no crimp tool and no conductor twisting. The connectors are reusable, so a conductor can be released and re-seated during testing or fault finding without cutting back and re-stripping. Buying the range as a single graded kit means fewer separate part numbers to reorder, and the L-BOXX Mini stacks with other L-BOXX cases on the vehicle. Restocking remains straightforward because the case shows which 221 type is running low.
The Wago 887-957 is not rated for conductors above 6mm2 and does not replace a screwed lug or busbar for heavy sub-mains. The connectors are a dry indoor product and are not weatherproof, so they are not suitable on their own for damp, buried, or outdoor joints. Follow AS/NZS 3000 for the final installation.
Verified Sparky Direct customer reviews: Wago 887-957 4mm2 and 6mm2 Compact Splicing Connector Set L-BOXX Mini 221 Series (887-957)

The 221 series connectors in the set are approved to IEC/EN 60998-2-2, the standard for connecting devices used for permanent connection in installations. Each connector is rated to 450V. The final installation must still comply with AS/NZS 3000 as wired by a licensed electrician.
Wiring inside a fixed electrical installation must be carried out by a licensed electrician. The connector itself needs no tool: strip the conductor to the length marked on the connector, lift the lever, insert the conductor, and close the lever. Correct strip length matters for a sound connection.
The set connects solid, stranded, and fine-stranded conductors. The 4mm2 connectors (221-412, 221-413, 221-415) take 0.14 to 4mm2, and the 6mm2 connectors (221-612, 221-613, 221-615) take 0.5 to 6mm2. One connector can join conductors of different sizes within its range.
The 887-957 includes both 4mm2 and 6mm2 connectors, covering conductors up to 6mm2. The 887-952 set contains 4mm2 connectors only. Choose the 887-957 when a job mixes lighting circuits with heavier sub-main runs that need the 6mm2 221-612, 221-613, and 221-615 connectors.
The case holds 235 connectors: 75 x 221-412, 50 x 221-413, 25 x 221-415, 40 x 221-612, 30 x 221-613, and 15 x 221-615. One 221-500 mounting carrier is also included. The graded tray sorts each type and stacks with the L-BOXX system.
The 221 connectors are a dry indoor product and are not weatherproof on their own, so damp, buried, or outdoor joints need separate protection rated for the location. The connectors do not accept conductors larger than 6mm2. Heavier sub-mains need a screwed lug or busbar connection instead.
