Learn more by watching our CnZMATE C & Z Purlin Mounting Block | Purlmate 3750 video.

3750 is a C and Z purlin mounting block rated for interior and exterior use. It mounts switches, sockets, and electrical fittings directly to steel purlins via a 44mm hole cut through the purlin itself. This design provides a clean, flush mounting surface without surface conduit runs or exposed cabling. It suits standard switch plates and complies with electrical standards for domestic and commercial installations.

Shed electricians and builders specify purlin mounting blocks for installations above workbenches and under eaves. They deliver tidy, finished results where traditional wall boxes and surface conduit add visual clutter. The Purlmate 3750 is chosen for jobs requiring a professional appearance from both sides of the purlin and where installation speed matters. Stock rotation is simple: one design covers both interior and exterior use.

Contractors report faster installation than traditional alternatives and a neat finish that improves overall job appearance. The low-profile design maximises space above and below the purlin. Multiple units can be gang-joined to support expanded power or lighting control. The slotted mounting holes allow quick, accurate positioning without repositioning or re-drilling.

        Features

        • Interior and exterior rated — suitable for workshops, sheds, domestic buildings, or commercial installations with no environmental restriction.
        • Low-profile design — maximises working space on the purlin and delivers a tidy finish compared to surface-mounted alternatives.
        • Flush mounting through purlin — the 44mm hole provides a clean mounting surface with wiring emerging from the 2 x 25mm conduit entries into the block itself.
        • Slotted mounting holes — quick, accurate installation without repositioning screws or adjusting drilling.
        • Gang-joinable — multiple units can be joined together for larger setups requiring multiple switches and sockets on a single purlin run.
        • Fitted screw caps — supplied covers conceal fastening and deliver a professional finish on completed installations.
        • Steel construction — rated for all environments, indoors and outdoors, with durability in normal use.
        • Suits standard switch plates — compatible with commonly used electrical outlet and switch faceplates on the market.
        • Fast installation — on-site time is minimal once the 44mm hole is cut; mounting and wiring take minutes per unit.
        • 2 x 25mm conduit entries — plain entries accept 25mm conduit for wiring runs into and out of the block with no need for adapters.

        Where to use

        • Workshop power distribution — mount above workbenches to distribute power for tools, lighting, and equipment charging without surface runs.
        • Shed electrification — fit purlin-mounted outlets and switches to supply power and lighting in sheds, gardens, and outbuildings.
        • Exterior under-eave installations — position under eaves to mount exterior lights and sensors for security and floodlighting.
        • Domestic extension and renovation work — specify for new builds and home extensions where purlin framing allows purlin mounting in preference to wall mounting.
        • Commercial and industrial buildings — install in factories, warehouses, and industrial spaces with exposed purlin structure.
        • Gang-joined multi-outlet setups — join multiple units end-to-end to create larger control clusters for additional switches and sockets on a single run.

The Purlmate 3750 is not suitable for installations that require flush wall-box mounting (use wall boxes instead for internal drywall installations) or for applications where conduit entry size larger than 25mm is required (use larger purlin blocks or alternative mounting methods).

        (P3750)

The Purlmate 3750 requires a 44mm hole cut through the purlin. You will need a 44mm hole saw rated for steel to make a clean opening. Once the hole is cut, the block fits flush through and is secured with the supplied screws.

The Purlmate 3750 is rated for both interior and exterior use. It is suitable for sheds, covered areas, under eaves, and external installations with no environmental restrictions. The steel construction handles all weather conditions.

Yes, the Purlmate 3750 suits standard switch plates. It is compatible with commonly available outlet faceplates and switch mechanisms used in Australian installations. No special or custom plates are required.

Yes, multiple Purlmate 3750 units can be gang-joined end-to-end to create larger clusters. This allows you to mount several switches and sockets on a single purlin run for expanded control and power distribution.

The Purlmate 3750 has 2 x 25mm plain conduit entries. Standard 25mm conduit fits directly into these entries. If you require larger conduit (32mm or above), you will need to use a larger purlin-mounting block model or alternative mounting method.

Purlin Mounting Block for GPO's on 9 August 2022

I have ordered a couple of things from Sparky direct, and to date have been very happy with their service. Postage is fast, and well packed. These purlin GPO mounting blocks are the best for mounting GPO's in sheds. They do need a 44mm hole saw through the purlin, but otherwise, perfect. One check: I ordered 10. (Two boxes with four in each, and a split box with two). The split box didn't have the conduit entry devices that fit into the 44mm hole. While I can manage without these - I will use them on the end of the run - it would have been better to receive the complete item.
