        Major Tech | 3-Phase Power Quality and Energy Analyser 1000V 3000A | IEC 61000-4-30 Class A

The Major Tech MT795 is a three-phase power quality and energy analyser certified to IEC 61000-4-30 Class A, rated CAT III 1000V and CAT IV 600V. It measures voltage to 1000V phase to neutral, current to 3000A with the four supplied flexible probes, harmonics to the 50th order, flicker, transients, dips, swells, and imbalance. An 8-inch 1024 x 768 IPS touchscreen runs setup, live waveforms, and data downloads on the MT795 without a computer. Wi-Fi uploads recordings to the cloud for the Power-X app and web platform, and a 64GB SD card stores logged data on board.

Nuisance trips, overheating neutrals, and drives that fall over at random rarely show up on a multimeter reading taken after the event. Proving the cause needs the disturbance captured as it happens, with enough resolution to hold up in a report to the client or the network. The MT795 records 5 readings per second on every channel and captures transients up to 6kV at a 200kS/s sampling rate. Logged sessions run from one hour to a full year, so intermittent faults have nowhere to hide on the trend chart.

For a contractor quoting power factor correction or an energy audit, the MT795 turns a site visit into standards-based compliance reporting through the web platform. Ten wiring topologies cover everything from single phase with neutral to high-leg delta, so one instrument handles the whole client base. The kit ships in a trolley case with four 3000A flexible coils, CAT III 1000V leads, and clips ready to connect. Class 0.2S energy accuracy means the kWh figures stand next to the retailer's meter without argument.

        Features

        • IEC 61000-4-30 Class A — the MT795 measures power quality to the top instrument class, with IEC 61000-4-15 flicker and IEC 61000-4-7 harmonic methods.
        • CAT III 1000V / CAT IV 600V — voltage inputs are rated for distribution boards and utility-level connections, with 3000V isolation on each measuring interface.
        • 8-inch IPS touchscreen — a 1024 x 768 Android-driven display handles setup, waveforms, phasors, and downloads with no PC on site.
        • Full power quality suite — voltage, current, frequency, power, energy, harmonics to the 50th order, interharmonics, flicker, dips, swells, transients, inrush, and unbalance.
        • Four 3000A flexible probes included — 535mm coils clamp L1, L2, L3, and N together, with optional probes extending range to 10,000A.
        • 6kV transient capture — a 200kS/s sampling rate records up to 9,999 high-energy events with pre-trigger context for fault analysis.
        • Inrush current capture — threshold and lag triggering records motor starts and similar events across a 1 to 45 minute window.
        • Logger for 150 parameters — the MT795 records min, max, and average values at 5 readings per second across all four channels.
        • 64GB SD card supplied — storage expands to 256GB, alongside 16GB of internal flash and GPS plus BeiDou time synchronisation.
        • Wi-Fi and Type-C connectivity — recordings upload to the cloud for the Power-X app and web platform, and USB connects the PC software.
        • Class 0.2S energy accuracy — energy metering meets ANSI C12.20 and IEC 62053-22 Class 0.2S, with kWh forward and reverse registers.
        • Mains or battery operation — twin 7.4V 5200mAh lithium packs run the MT795 off the adaptor; above 40°C the instrument runs on battery only.

        Where to use

        • Power quality investigations — the MT795 captures the dips, transients, and harmonics behind nuisance tripping and unexplained equipment failures.
        • Energy audits and load studies — week-long or year-long logging builds the consumption profile behind tariff reviews and efficiency proposals.
        • Power factor correction sizing — measured PF, DPF, and reactive power quantify the correction a site needs before capacitor banks are specified.
        • Harmonic surveys on drive-heavy sites — THD and K-factor readings flag transformer stress from VFDs, switch-mode supplies, and LED loads.
        • Commissioning and compliance checks — the MT795 verifies supply quality against standards before handover on new industrial installations.
        • Motor start and inrush analysis — captured inrush events show how starting currents interact with protection settings and upstream supply.

The MT795 operates from -10°C to 40°C on mains power, with the 40°C to 50°C band available on battery operation only. Voltage inputs must not exceed the CAT III 1000V and CAT IV 600V ratings, and the current BNC ports are limited to 42V peak working voltage. Connection to live conductors is work for licensed and appropriately trained personnel following the manual's safety instructions.

        (MT795)

The MT795 analyses all key aspects of power quality — including voltage, current, power factor, harmonics, transients, flicker, frequency, and imbalance. It helps identify losses, equipment stress, or inefficiencies in single- or three-phase systems.

It’s designed for licensed electricians, electrical contractors, energy auditors, and facility maintenance personnel who need detailed power quality analysis and accurate data logging for testing, commissioning, or fault-finding.

The built-in Wi-Fi connects to the Major Tech Power-X App, allowing you to monitor live readings, adjust settings, and generate reports remotely from your phone, tablet, or computer, no cable needed.

You don’t need a PC. The MT795 has a colour touchscreen for setup, waveform viewing, and data export directly from the unit.

It logs five readings per second, automatically recording minimum, maximum, and average values for detailed trend analysis.

The Power-X App can generate detailed load, harmonic, imbalance, and trend reports suitable for compliance records, maintenance documentation, or client reporting.
