The NLS 40077 is a 1.2 metre flex and socket lead fitted with a 3 pin round earth socket, rated 10A 250V. The 40077 uses 3 core 1.0mm2 flexible cord in a grey sheath, with the socket moulded onto one end of the cord. The round earth aperture accepts only a matching round earth plug, keying the outlet to a special purpose circuit.
Commercial luminaires and controlled equipment frequently sit on a circuit the building switches, times or dims automatically. Terminating every fitting directly into fixed wiring turns each later replacement into a rewiring job. A cord mounted socket reduces that connection to a plug in point instead.
