Learn more by watching our PSA LIFESAVER LIF6000THL | SMOKE ALARM CONTROL | Wireless Test/Hush/Locate Controller for Lifesaver 6000 Series Smoke Alarms | New 2021 video.
The PSA Lifesaver LIF6000THL is a wireless smoke alarm controller that tests, hushes and locates compatible Lifesaver 6000 series smoke alarms from a single button. The LIF6000THL runs on a sealed 10 year lithium battery and communicates over a 918MHz radio link, rated to 100 metres line of sight and 30 metres indoors. It carries approvals to AS/NZS 4268:2017, AS/NZS 3786:2014 (selected clause), AS/NZS CISPR 32:2015 and AS/NZS 62368.1:2018.
Interconnected alarms all sound together, which leaves nobody sure which unit actually picked up the smoke. Standing on a chair to quieten burnt toast is the other half of that problem. The controller handles both from hand height: a locate function identifies the initiating alarm, and a memory indicator holds that record after the noise stops. Regular testing becomes a button press rather than a ladder job.
Sparkies fitting out a whole dwelling get a controller that pairs on site and reads clearly at handover. Single button operation gives the occupant one control point for test, hush and locate, rather than a trip up the ladder. That cuts the call-backs that come from a client who cannot quieten a nuisance alarm and rings the installer instead. On rental and property-manager work, a wall-fixed controller stays with the dwelling, and the 10 year sealed battery keeps battery changes off the maintenance list.
The LIF6000THL is a controller, not a detector: it carries no smoke sensor and will not raise an alarm on its own. It is rated for indoor use only, from 0 to 40 degrees C and up to 93% relative humidity non-condensing. It has no effect on alarms outside the compatible Lifesaver 6000 range, and the mains-powered models within that range must be mounted on a wireless base before the controller can reach them.

(LIF6000THL)
The LIF6000THL is approved to AS/NZS 4268:2017, AS/NZS 3786:2014 (selected clause), AS/NZS CISPR 32:2015, AS/NZS 62368.1:2018 and AS/NZS 2772.2:2016 AMD 1:2018. These cover radio equipment, the relevant smoke alarm clause, electromagnetic compatibility, equipment safety and radiofrequency exposure.
The LIF6000THL needs no wiring. It can be carried as a portable remote, sat in a mounted holding bracket, or fixed to a wall. Pairing to the compatible alarms follows the instructions supplied with the controller. The sealed lithium battery is fitted from new, so there is nothing to install first.
The controller works with compatible Lifesaver 6000 series smoke alarms. It controls the wireless 10 year lithium battery alarms in that series directly. The mains-powered models in the same series can also be controlled, but only when those alarms are mounted on wireless baseplates.
The memory feature records which alarm started an event. Red LEDs flash three times every 40 seconds, both on the controller and on the initiating alarm, so the source can still be identified after the alarm has been silenced. This saves checking every unit in the house.
The radio link runs at 918MHz, rated to 100 metres line of sight and 30 metres indoors. One controller operates a group of up to 23 compatible units. Building materials, distance and internal walls all affect indoor range, so a central position gives the best coverage.
The lithium battery is rated for 10 years and is sealed into the unit, so it cannot be replaced. There are no battery changes across the rated service life. An amber LED flashes every 30 seconds to signal low battery, at which point the controller is replaced rather than serviced.
The manufacturer warranty period is two years for domestic use and two years for commercial use, starting from the invoice date. The warranty method is return to Sparky Direct. Proof of purchase is required for any claim.
