The Clipsal 40ERPBDM-VW is a 350 W rotary push dimmer mechanism for dimmable LED loads at 240 V. The 40ERPBDM-VW is a 40 series mech in Vivid White, supplied with flying leads and a clip-in fixing. The mechanism mounts flush behind a separate wall plate and is rated IP20 for indoor use.
Dimming an LED circuit comes down to matching the dimmer to the load it has to carry. The 40ERPBDM-VW handles 350 W of dimmable LED at 240 V, and 300 W on incandescent lamps or electronic transformers. LED-optimised trailing edge switching suits the drivers used in current LED fittings. Minimum and maximum brightness adjustment sets the dimming range at the mech during fit-off.
The 40ERPBDM-VW supports multiway dimming up to four-way, with published wiring for converting existing two-way and three-way switch runs. Dimmer-to-dimmer runs extend up to 50 metres, and each mech carries integral on and off switching. Clipsal backs the LED dimmer range with a seven-year warranty.

The 40ERPBDM-VW carries an IP20 rating, so it is not suitable for outdoor or damp locations. Loads above 350 W of dimmable LED, or above 300 W on incandescent lamps and electronic transformers, are outside the rating. The mechanism does not carry 0-10 V driver control, so lighting that dims on a 0-10 V or 1-10 V signal is outside its scope.
