The Clipsal 755PSMA5L is a mains-powered photoelectric smoke alarm rated 230V AC/DC 50Hz, with a sealed 3V lithium battery. The alarm detects smouldering fires and open flame, and sounds an 85 dB local alarm. The 755PSMA5L sits in the Clipsal Fire Tek range and conforms to AS 3786.
A replaceable backup cell needs changing each year, and a flat battery chirps until it is replaced. The 755PSMA5L runs a sealed 3V lithium battery rated for 10 years, which matches the alarm's own service life. Queensland requires photoelectric alarms in every dwelling from 1 January 2027, and the 755PSMA5L conforms to AS 3786.
The 755PSMA5L surface mounts to a ceiling and fixes at four fixing points, so there is no cut-out to make.
