        Schneider Electric A9D32625 | Acti9 iDPN N Vigi 25A RCBO 1P+N C Curve | 6kA Type A

The Schneider Electric A9D32625 is a 25 A residual current breaker with overcurrent protection, from the Acti9 iDPN N Vigi range. It performs two protective functions at once. Overcurrent protection follows a C characteristic, comparable to an MCB, and earth-leakage protection operates at 30 mA Type A sensitivity, comparable to an RCD. The A9D32625 is a 1P+N device with a 6000 A breaking capacity.

Switchboards fill up fast. Every circuit wanting both overcurrent and earth-leakage protection is another call on rail space, and the A9D32625 delivers both across four 9 mm pitches, or 36 mm of rail. The 30 mA residual current stage operates instantaneously, with no intentional delay, and the sensing mechanism is voltage independent. A C characteristic gives motors and switch-mode equipment room to start, delaying magnetic operation until five to ten times the 25 A rating.

On the board it mounts to DIN rail by clip-on installation, and accepts a comb busbar at either the top or bottom connection. Terminals accommodate conductors to 16 mm2 rigid or 10 mm2 flexible, with a 15 mm stripping length and 2 N.m tightening torque specified at either connection. The toggle accepts a padlocking device for isolation, and local signalling indicates an ON, OFF or fault trip condition at a glance.

        Features

        • 25 A rated current — sized for a single-phase final subcircuit at 230 to 240 V AC, 50 Hz.
        • C curve characteristic — magnetic operation sits between five and ten times rated current, so start-up surges do not nuisance trip it.
        • 30 mA earth-leakage — operates instantaneously, with no intentional delay built into the residual current path.
        • Type A class — the earth-leakage side is Type A, not Type AC.
        • 6 kA breaking capacity — 6000 A Icn is the ceiling for the A9D32625, so check it against the prospective fault current at the board.
        • Comb busbar — connects top or bottom, on the usual 9 mm phase to neutral pitch.
        • Terminals to 16 mm2 — 1 to 16 mm2 rigid, or 1 to 10 mm2 flexible, top or bottom.
        • Padlockable toggle — accepts a padlocking device for isolation, so the circuit stays dead while work is underway.
        • IP20 as supplied — the A9D32625 reaches IP40 once it is sitting inside a modular enclosure.

        Where to use

        • Domestic final subcircuits — the A9D32625 covers 25 A power circuits on a single-phase supply.
        • Light commercial boards — positioned on the outgoing side of a distribution board.
        • Busbar-fed rows — the 9 mm pitch keeps a row of devices lining up on the comb.
        • Boards needing lock-off — the padlock point lets the circuit be isolated and tagged before work starts.
        • Single-phase supplies — rated for 230 to 240 V AC at 50 Hz.

A couple of things the A9D32625 is not: it is IP20 as supplied, so it belongs inside a distribution board or modular enclosure rather than out in the open. It is a 1P+N device, so it provides overcurrent and earth-leakage protection on one phase only, with no three-phase capability. And 6 kA is the ceiling, so verify it against the prospective fault current calculated at the board. Installation into a switchboard is licensed electrical work throughout Australia.

        (A9D32625)

The A9D32625 conforms to EN/IEC 61009-2-1, and carries VDE, KEMA and RCM marks. It is also suitable for isolation to EN/IEC 60947-2, so it can isolate the circuit rather than just protect it.

It clips onto DIN rail and takes up four 9 mm pitches, so allow 36 mm on the rail. Single terminals top or bottom take 1 to 16 mm2 rigid or 1 to 10 mm2 flexible. Wire stripping length is 15 mm and tightening torque is 2 N.m.

Yes, from either top or bottom. Comb busbar and distribution block connection is listed both ways, on a 9 mm pitch between phase and neutral. The device is 1P+N with the neutral on the left, so check that against the busbar you are running.

Up to 6000 A at 230 to 240 V AC 50 Hz. Rated service breaking capacity is the full 6000 A, so it will clear the same fault repeatedly rather than once. Check that against the prospective fault current calculated at the board.

Sensitivity is 30 mA, tripping instantaneously with no intentional delay. The protection class is Type A rather than Type AC. Tripping is voltage independent, meaning the mechanism runs off the fault current itself and does not need supply voltage sitting at the device.

No. On its own the device is IP20, which is finger protection only. It reaches IP40 once it is inside a modular enclosure, both figures to IEC 60529. Mounting it anywhere exposed is outside both ratings.

The contractual warranty period is 18 months, provided by Schneider Electric as the manufacturer. That is the period stated on the product datasheet.
