        Schneider Electric A9D32610 | Acti9 iDPN N Vigi 10A RCBO 1P+N C Curve | 6kA Type A

The Schneider Electric A9D32610 is a 10 A residual current breaker with overcurrent protection, from the Acti9 iDPN N Vigi range. One device covers overload, short circuit and earth leakage on a single-phase final subcircuit. Overcurrent protection follows a C characteristic, and a 30 mA Type A residual current stage handles earth leakage. The A9D32610 is rated 6000 A Icn to EN/IEC 61009-2-1, with VDE, KEMA and RCM certification.

Board space runs out long before the circuit schedule does, particularly on a domestic switchboard. The A9D32610 combines overcurrent and earth-leakage protection across four 9 mm pitches, occupying 36 mm of rail. Its 30 mA residual current stage operates instantaneously, and the sensing mechanism is voltage independent. A C characteristic delays magnetic operation until between five and ten times the 10 A rated current.

On the board, the A9D32610 clips to DIN rail and accepts a comb busbar at either top or bottom. Terminals accommodate 1 to 16 mm2 rigid or 1 to 10 mm2 flexible conductors, stripped 15 mm and tightened to 2 N.m. The toggle takes a padlocking device, and a contact position indicator confirms the actual contact position before isolation.

        Features

        • 10 A rated current — the A9D32610 sits on 230 to 240 V AC at 50 Hz, sized for a single-phase final subcircuit.
        • C curve characteristic — the magnetic trip holds off until five to ten times rated current, so momentary inrush has room to settle.
        • 30 mA earth-leakage stage — tripping is instantaneous, with no intentional delay built into the residual current path.
        • Type A class — the earth-leakage side of the device is Type A, not Type AC.
        • 6000 A breaking capacity — 6 kA Icn is the ceiling for the A9D32610, so check prospective fault current at the board.
        • Comb busbar ready — feed it from a comb busbar at top or bottom, on the 9 mm phase to neutral pitch.
        • Terminal capacity — single terminals top or bottom take 1 to 16 mm2 rigid, or 1 to 10 mm2 flexible.
        • Padlocking device — the toggle locks off for isolation, so the circuit stays dead while work is underway.
        • IP20 as supplied — the A9D32610 is IP20 bare, and only reaches IP40 once it is inside a modular enclosure.

        Where to use

        • Domestic final subcircuits — the A9D32610 covers 10 A lighting and small power runs on a single-phase supply.
        • Light commercial boards — the device sits on the outgoing side of a distribution board.
        • Busbar-fed rows — where a comb busbar feeds a row of devices, the 9 mm pitch keeps everything lining up.
        • Boards needing lock-off — the padlocking device allows the circuit to be isolated and tagged before work starts.
        • Circuits with inrush — the C curve gives momentary starting current room before the magnetic trip picks up.

The A9D32610 is IP20 as supplied, so it is not suitable for mounting outside an enclosure. It protects one phase and a neutral, which means it provides no three-phase protection. Operation is rated to 60 degrees Celsius, and 6000 A Icn is the ceiling on prospective fault current.

        (A9D32610)

The A9D32610 conforms to EN/IEC 61009-2-1, and carries VDE, KEMA and RCM marks. It is also suitable for isolation to EN/IEC 60947-2, so it can isolate the circuit rather than just protect it.

Yes, from either top or bottom. Comb busbar and distribution block connection is listed both ways, on a 9 mm pitch between phase and neutral. The device is 1P+N with the neutral on the left, so check that against the busbar you are running.

Up to 6000 A at 230 to 240 V AC 50 Hz. Rated service breaking capacity is the full 6000 A, so it will clear the same fault repeatedly rather than once. Check that against the prospective fault current calculated at the board.

Sensitivity is 30 mA, tripping instantaneously with no intentional delay. The protection class is Type A rather than Type AC. Tripping is voltage independent, meaning the mechanism runs off the fault current itself and does not need supply voltage sitting at the device.

No. On its own the device is IP20, which is finger protection only. It reaches IP40 once it is inside a modular enclosure, both figures to IEC 60529. Mounting it anywhere exposed is outside both ratings.

The contractual warranty period is 18 months, provided by Schneider Electric as the manufacturer. That is the period stated on the product datasheet.
